He is obsessed with how the sharks migrate. Specifically, he is fond of the blacktip shark migration, an annual event that sees thousands of sharks migrating to Florida. The average blacktip shark can weigh around 60-80 pounds. These active and aggressive predators get their name from the distinct black markings on their dorsal fins. This brings in massive hammerhead sharks from all over the world. These predators come to feed on the migrating blacktips, creating an incredible spectacle for any onlookers. The shark fan uses a high-speed drone to capture these great shots of the migration and the predators that aim to get them-the hammerhead sharks. It’s incredible how big these hammer’s heads are! The vast majority are over 13 feet, with some exceeding 14 feet. That is twice the length of a blacktip shark! Although blacktip sharks are known for their speed, the hammerhead shark takes on the task of trying to catch his next meal. The drone footage shows the hammerhead is on the hunt as it chases through the herd of black-tipped sharks. They quickly swim away from him. The drone struggles to keep up with the intense shark chase. What’s wild is the drone was going around 30 mph and couldn’t stay directly over the top of the hammerhead. As the drone follows the sharks, it shows an incredible and alarming clip of the shoreline. What is particularly worrisome is the number of blacktip sharks swarming the beach. There are no people around, which is a good thing. The drone continues to follow the hammerhead as it closes in on its victim. One unfortunate blacktip shark attempts to get out of the way of the hammerhead’s deadly mouth. However, the evasive maneuvers were in vain as the hammerhead’s teeth dug into it and the jaw closed. The drone can no longer pick up the blacktip shark’s view because the hammerhead’s body completely covers it. The size comparison is astounding, and it becomes apparent the blacktip shark no longer has a chance of survival. The hammerhead shakes its powerful head left and right while it begins to eat the other shark. It looks like a dog that got rowdy and shook his favorite squeaky chew toy. Only watching a shark shake its head like a dog while it consumes another shark is slightly more terrifying. This fantastic footage will leave you breathless as you watch these mighty creatures battle for survival. Now that you’re excited about watching the video check out the massive hammerhead shark hunting down the speedy blacktip sharks.
